Sydney Hospital is Australia’s first hospital dating from the arrival of the first fleet in 1788. The façade of Parliament House and The Mint were built as wings of the original hospital in 1811.
The Friends of Sydney Hospital volunteer guide will provide us with a one hour tour of the historic areas. Learn of the 19th century sandstone Macquarie St building, which features a grand entrance with carved cedar staircase. You will also see the chapel of Luke the Physician, and Il Porcellino, the bronze boar sculpture and most photographed subject in the CBD.
Morning tea will be provided en route by Kiama Scenic Tours.
Lunch stop during the day at your own expense.
