The Great Synagogue has its origins in the 1820s, with the first Jewish services in Sydney. The building is one of the national treasures of Australia, and one of the most beautiful places of worship of any denomination. The glorious Ark, cedar Bimah and pews, stained glass windows, shining brasswork, intricate tiles and star-studded ceiling can make any service inspiring.

Your afternoon visit today to the Synagogue will include a tour with a wonderful volunteer guide with specialised knowledge in different aspects of the building as well as Jewish life and history.

Lunch at Paddington RSL (your expense) prior to tour.
